Acts 15:5 – PME Point

But certain ones of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed, stood up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to order them to observe the Torah of Moses” (Acts 15:5, PME)

There is no indication in the narrative of Acts 15, that the various hyper-conservative Pharisees, who demanded proselyte circumcision and Torah observance of the non-Jewish Believers—viewed Torah practices as something that they could consider at a further point in their progression of faith. They actually believed that it was something that should have been ordered upon them. This was hardly the yoke of Yeshua the Messiah, but rather a legalistic human yoke to be rigidly and unfairly coerced onto others (Acts 15:10-11).
