Over the centuries, many scholars have attempted to discredit the historicity of the Bible, namely the Tanach or Old Testament. Many believe that Moses had no part to play in the composition of the Torah, and advocate that much of the Bible is nothing more than pure myth. Today in the Messianic community there are those who are trying to discredit the inspiration of the Apostolic Scriptures (New Testament) following the same techniques and philosophy of German higher criticism from the 1800's--and do not even know it!
